So Hum: A Meditative Poem on Cosmic Unity | Thursday Verse No. 8

The earth’s turning is more than just rotation, and breath more than respiration; it is the universe expressing itself through us, and we through it. So Hum is a poem that breathes, meditates, and gently dissolves into something larger.

So Hum

Sunset staging the evening stars,

I look outside the window into the dept of far,

There changes the purple from pink,

Draining out time like a pen writing out its ink,

The evening hues sate my flaring lungs,

And I empty it out, humming a song that sounds new every time it is sung,

In the stillness of silence,

The flapping of wings, the falling of leaves,

and the spinning of the world churning the breeze,

become music to my song.

I hum,

Amalgamating into The One.
